'I got filler to fix my gummy smile - but it made me look like a serial killer'

A woman was mortified after having filler injections to fix her "gummy smile", but instead left the cosmetic appointment "looking like a serial killer". Chloe Ellis, 30, from Uxbridge, Ontario, Canada, had undergone tear trough filler to treat dark circles under her eyes, but the procedure "turned out awful" when she saw the results.

Chloe, who goes by the username @chloe_wellness on TikTok, said her boyfriend was instantly taken aback and joked that she looked like a woman from a horror movie. She explained: "I was shocked and mortified, but I knew that it would wear off and was able to find the humour in it.

"My boyfriend loves to remind me that me my impulsivity is my biggest flaw, this was a prime example of me not doing the research, only to have it backfire.

"I can laugh about it, but not too hard or else my smile will kick in."

Chloe posted the 25-second clip to TikTok, which has racked up over 60,000 views, with the caption: "I can laugh about this now but I was not smiling then".

She showcased a couple of 'before' photos, then cut to a pre-procedure picture of herself with white pencil markings drawn on her cheeks and around her nose.

"Why are you injecting so high for a gummy smile?" she wrote over the snap, asking the question that her followers were also thinking.

"Watch my botched Botox kick in," Ellie said, proceeding to show clips of the progression over multiple days.

She captioned the day three post-injection photo as: "I look like a serial killer", and said on day four, "even my cheeks are frozen and what's going on with my eyes???"

Ellie claims it took her a full 100 days for the injections to finally wear off, and showed proof with a recent snap of her smiling and the caption: "what a wild ride".

In the comments section of her viral video, many TikTok users could relate to Chloe's filler nightmare, with one writing: "I can't even smile".

"Couldn't swallow solid food for three months when my Botox for migraines migrated to my throat," another said.

While a third laughed: "This happened to me three months before my wedding. I almost called it off. I was mortified."
