Economy is hardly the most exciting of cabins on flights - so one airline has left it out completely.

Instead, hyper-luxury French airline La Compagnie offers planes where all seats are business class only, with perks such as extra legroom and seats that can be reclined to turn into beds.

The small aviation company has been running for around a decade, but has big aspirations when it comes to quality.

The all-business-class boutique airline flies New York to Paris and Nice on two Airbus aircraft and was set up to try and offer luxury aviation experiences for a fraction of the cost.

Currently a return ticket from New York to Paris in May can be bought for around £3,200.

This is roughly £1,000 more than the cheapest business class fare available with Air France between the two cities around the same time.

La Compagnie does, on occasion, offer promotional fares that are as low as £900 round trip, so it's definitely worth keeping an eye out.

The cabins are configured with 76 seats arranged in two by two rows, meaning there's an awful lot more room to stretch your legs and wander to the toilet than on a typical jet.

All seats recline to perfectly horizontal beds so there's a good chance you'll be able to grab some sleep while you jet across the Atlantic.

Each bed is 192cm in length, meaning only the longest of limbed travellers will find themselves hanging off the end.

The seats are equipped with a reading lamp, compartments for personal items and electronics, an electrical outlet, headphone jack, and a pouch for documents.

Other touches include anti-allergenic pillows, along with large soft covers and a travel care amenity kit.

For those who like to while away a flight watching films or TV shows, there are 15.6-inch seat mounted screens - and you get noise cancelling headphones too. Prefer to scroll through social media?

All passengers have access to free, unlimited high-speed Wi-Fi during their flight as well as to a number of newspaper websites.

As for the plane food there won't be complaints about sad lasagnes, as chef Christophe Langrée works with the company to whip up some famed French gastronomy for the passengers.

Passengers can enjoy four-course menu after take-off, with a cold starter, a hot dish chosen from two options, a cheese plate and a dessert.

The company puts a great deal of effort and attention into ensuring that its wines are as high quality as one would expect from a boutique French airline.

If the fine wine doesn't loosen you up a bit, then perhaps a spot of meditation will.

Passengers can discover meditation through a series of programs for beginners which have been tailored to the flight on the entertainment systems.

Before taking off La Compagnie provides passengers with pre-flight lounge access at third-party lounges and a pre-departure glass of Champagne.
