Jeremy Kyle hit with backlash after joking Harry should 'throw Meghan down well'
Jeremy Kyle was interviewing royal commentator Kinsey Schofield and broadcaster Emily Andrews when he made an unpleasant remark about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
Kinsey remarked: "People are done with the whingefest, they are done with the crying. The way these people use victimhood as currency, I think culturally we are tired of it.
"It's going to end soon, so they better get out of it what they can as the American people are really getting tired of their complaining and crying."
TalkTV host Jeremy suggested Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were "taking the Mickey".
Broadcaster Emily agreed before adding: "If you really want to perform a service for charity, go to Lesotho, it is safe there. Go and build wells, build a school and go and teach English..."
Kate Middleton swears by £19.99 rosehip oil that helps 'reduce wrinkles & scars'Interjecting, Jeremy quipped: "Throw [Meghan] down one," but Emily quickly hit back: "No, no, do not do that Jeremy Kyle."
TalkTV viewers were also not happy with the discussion as one wrote: "I support the Royal Family, I’m proud to be British. I believe that Harry does have issues and the circumstances surrounding his mother’s death have impacted on that health. His behaviour is being demonised to discredit his stance, this is not helping in this case." (sic)
Another simply tweeted: "And the obsession continues..."
Meanwhile, a statement from Meghan Markle and Prince Harry suggests they have not yet decided whether they will attend King Charles III's upcoming coronation.
It is understood that some prospective guest have been asked to save the date of May 6 ahead of official invitations which are expected to be sent out later this year.
A statement from the Duke and Duchess of Sussex confirms they have been emailed about the coronation.
"I can confirm the Duke has recently received email correspondence from His Majesty's office regarding the coronation," a spokesperson for the couple said.
"An immediate decision on whether the Duke and Duchess will attend will not be disclosed by us at this time."
