Bournemouth star admits Arsenal collapse feels worse than 9-0 Liverpool drubbing

Ryan Christie claimed the last-gasp defeat at Arsenal felt worse than Bournemouth’s 9-0 thrashing at Liverpool. “You almost grieve a bit after a loss like this,” said the Scotland star.

Gary O’Neil’s side took the lead after only 9.11 seconds through Philip Billing after a pre-planned move from kick-off and Marcos Senesi doubled the lead after 57 minutes. “Today in a way it is even worse because we deserved something from the game. You take it to the absolute death of a game and somebody [Reiss Nelson] puts it in the top corner. That is the way football works sometimes. We can’t put it to bed right away.

“You probably take tonight and then tomorrow and Monday to almost grieve a bit after a loss like this. But you need to get going again. We have another massive game against a great team next week. There are plenty of positives to take from a performance like that but it is hard to see them right now.”
