House hunters say they'd 'plummet to their death' on £5.8m home's 9ft-drop bed
House hunters have been left baffled after viewing a $7 million (£5.6 million) property with a bed suspended above a nine-foot drop over an indoor waterfall - leaving them fearing they would 'plummet to their death'. The unique three-storey home in Manhattan, New York, US, was originally an 1800s dental factory before being transformed by architect and owner David Ling.
However, the Zillow listing baffled potential buyers, who took to social media to question the property's unusual sleeping arrangements. Images show a daringly-positioned bed sticking out three feet off the edge of a platform on the open-plan second floor - without any walls or barriers to prevent sleepers from rolling off the end. Thrill-seeking snoozers can also enjoy an indoor waterfall that cascades down from the foot of the bed before landing in the 'moat' below.

The home designer is currently living part-time in the house himself, and claims that he is waiting on a 'special buyer' who will appreciate the property's unique features.
David said: "[The bed] is pretty safe. The casualties have been a couple pillows, the cat fell out of the bed once but she was fine, and a couple of remote controls - that was it. Nothing human.

"There is a very slight chance [of falling to the ground floor].
"But because I sleep with my head away from the precipice - and the head is really heavy, of all the body parts it's really heavy - I would have to deliberately scoot to the edge of the bed and fall over.

"The idea [of the waterfall] is how can I bring in nature and minimise the fact that nature is kind of artificial in New York. The two things that came to mind were water and sky.
"It's a pretty unique space. I think it'll take a special buyer and I'm willing to wait for that, because I enjoy the space.
"With the advice of my mentor, I just decided to create my own world, and not really worry about what other people think."
The architect claims that the house was supposed to combine living and working, with an open-plan layout made up of office space, living space and sleeping space.
The house listing was recently shared in a Facebook group, where it racked up more than 8,000 likes, shares and comments.
Users were quick to offer quips about the New York property, and many expressed their confusion about the risky resting space.
One user said: "Okay but what prevents you from falling off the bed? Or your bedding from getting wet?"
