A boy, aged 12, was reportedly dragged to the ground and suffered "cuts and bruises" after being attacked by a "rottweiler" as police appeal for the owner to come forward.

The youngster was left crying for help and needing emergency treatment after the incident outside Limehurst Academy on Bridge Street, in Loughborough at around 2pm on Tuesday, January 24.

Leicestershire Police have asked for the man with the dog to contact them and they have now issued CCTV of a person with whom they would like to speak.

A post about the incident was initially shared by the boy's relative on Facebook, asking for people to come forward about the incident, claiming that the dog had been a rottweiler.

The post read: "My nephew, age 12, was attacked by a rottweiler dog outside Limehurst high school.
