Michelle Heaton 'gutted' as DOI fans blast cruel twist and 'unfair' marking
Dancing On Ice star Michelle Heaton has shared her heartbreak after leaving the competion without having the chance to fight for her place in the skate-off.
The former Liberty X star, 43, told fans that she was gutted over the departure, but also acknowledged viewers' frustration over "unfair" marking.
Sharing a video of her and her two children, she thanked fans' support during her time on the programme.
"Aw guys, I'm absolutely gutted," she said as she spoke from backstage, while her son AJ, eight, jumped in and said: "We are so sad."
Unimpressed viewers flocked to Twitter over Sunday night's marking, branding the judges "harsh" over their negative critique of Michelle.
Strictly's Molly Rainford and Tyler West fuel romance rumours while on tourSadly, for the first time ever, there was no skate-off either - meaning that Michelle wasn't able to battle for her place in next week's show.
Host Philip Schofield announced at the beginning of the show that there would be "no second chances" and the celebrity with the lowest scores would be leaving immediately.
Michelle was dressed up as Velma Kelly as she performed to All That Jazz for musicals week.
One person shared: "I’m annoyed by the lack of a skate off tonight I always love to see what songs the couples get/choose for the skate off routines."
Another fumed: "I’m no fan of Michelle at all but those scores were criminal, she deserved more."
While another added: "WTAF with those scores for Michelle?? Seriously, the judges are ruining this show with their farcical scores."
"Nah sorry those scores for Michelle are a p**s take. 4.5? Behave," another tweeted.
Other fans said that it should have been Patsy Palmer after she took a tumble on the ice.
Patsy fell over during her Wicked-themed routine which saw her painted green for the role of Elphaba.
She added in the caption: "I wasn't ready to go, but thank you so much for your support and bye Dancing on Ice, but it's been amazing and see you all at the final."
