Girl, 7, found dead at home with woman, 50, and man, 49, arrested for ‘neglect’
Two people have been arrested after a seven-year-old girl was found dead, police say.
A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said a 50-year-old man and a 49-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of neglect after the girl was found dead on Friday, January 27.
Both suspects were arrested a day later and taken into custody.
The London Ambulance Service and the Hatzola, a Jewish volunteer emergency medical service, called the police after the death of the girl in N16, a postcode in North London.
Following the arrest, the Met issued a statement to members of the local Jewish community, saying the arrests were "necessary."

In the memo, the force said: "There has been some concern amongst the orthodox Jewish community as the arrests were made during Sabbath.

Hatzola says they are "a non-profit, volunteer organisation established in 1979 to provide pre-hospital emergency medical response and transportation at no cost, to the North London community."
The two adults who were arrested have since been bailed.
The Met said in a statement: "On Friday, 27 January police were called by the London Ambulance Service following the death of a seven-year-old girl at an address in the N16 area of London.
"A 49-year-old man and a 50-year-old woman were subsequently arrested on suspicion of neglect.
"They were taken into custody and have since been bailed pending further enquiries to a date in late April.
"Enquiries into the circumstances are ongoing."
Police did not specify where the arrests took place, but the N16 postcode covers the Clissold, Stoke Newington, Shacklewell and Stamford Hill areas in London.
