Love Island's Amy Hart hits back after she's trolled for epic baby shower rant
Love Island star Amy Hart has slammed criticism that she 'hates' baby showers, as she shared a lengthy post on social media explaining her decision not to have one.
The 30-year-old star, who appeared on the 2019 series of Love Island, is currently pregnant with her first child and told her pals that she didn't want a party being thrown in her honour.
Amy said she didn't want to be 'showered with gifts', as is the American tradition and also felt uncomfortable celebrating her unborn baby knowing other women may be struggling.
The star said she also doesn't know if her baby is a boy or a girl yet and doesn't "see any point in being showered with lots of beige".
In an Instagram story, the soon to be mum added that she's seen "very few rowdy baby showers" and would rather wait to have "an epic sip and see and ChristeningFest" instead where she can join in dancing, drinking and partying with her friends and family.

Amy explained her reasons for not wanting a baby shower on her Instagram (Instagram)Speaking to her 1.1million Instagram followers, Amy wrote: "Ok so my DM's are packed full of 'why no baby shower' and even a few 'why do you hate baby showers?" after she admitted she would not be having one.
"I don't hate them and I'll happily attend other people's but my reasons for not having one are as follows," Amy began.
"The term shower is all about showering the baby with gifts (American thang innit) and as we don't know what we're having I don't see any point in being showered with lots of beige."
She continued: "Why not wait until people who want to buy gifts know who they're buying for! Also lots of my f&f like to wait until the baby is safely here before buying anything."

She wrote: "Being mindful of others in my life who may be going through different things (I feel like this needs no further explanation!) Which ties into the no games. 'What advice do you have??????'
Next she added: "Games part 2; I don't want to get all dressed up to sniff Nutella in a nappy."
Lastly she told her followers she most likely be having a 'Sip and See' instead. She wrote: "'But you love a party!' I have seen very few rowdy baby showers. I'd rather wait and have an epic sip and see and ChristeningFest where I can fully join in the dancing and partying."
When announcing her pregnancy last year, Amy also explained her reasons for not wanting a baby shower for her baby, after revealing she had potentially been considering IVF for her fertility struggles.
