England rugby star Joe Marler has reflected on his 'lowest point' after the prop had an angry fight with his pregnant wife Daisy.

The three-time Six Nations winner with England is regarded as one of the best front-rowers of his generation. The 32-year-old has spent a decade at the elite level and at 120 kgs has a tough guy appearance on the field.

The star has previously been praised for his honesty after detailing the worst of his depression. It was during this time that Marler briefly retired from England duty to spend more time with his family.

However, wife and full-time mum Daisy persuaded the England prop to return ahead of the 2019 World Cup. During an interview on the 'Tony Bellew Is Angry' podcast, the England star spoke about his 'lowest point' during an incident when his wife was seven months pregnant with their third child.

Marler said that the couple were arguing ahead of a party, when he admits he "absolutely lost it" and 'snapped'.

The six-foot prop then says he 'turned the house over', damaging a table, doors and the fridge - before leaving the house and driving off. It was then that Marler describes his lowest moment.

He said: "When that adrenaline that's going through you for whatever reason and the sort of darkness and cloud and the mist and all that.

"It drops and then it sort of dawns on you and you get that massive comedown and realisation of what am I doing? What have I done? What's just happened there?

"I turned the car around and I get back home and then my seven-month pregnant wife is lying there on the floor crying her eyes out. It's the most ashamed I've been. The most important thing that I have in my life is my wife and it kind of dawned on me, and I was like 'I'm not good. I need help'. It's my most lowest point."

After the incident Marler said he went and sought help from a psychiatrist, started taking medication and went 'on a journey' to work out 'what was going on'.

The rugby star recently spoke about how his wife made him feel like a 'naughty schoolboy' after he receiving a two-week ban for making an offensive remark aimed at Bristol prop Jake Heenan during a Premiership game in December. Marler is currently touring his own podcast The Joe Marler Show.
