British boy, 3, dies after falling from fourth-floor hotel window in Cyprus
A three-year-old boy has died after he fell from the fourth-floor window of a hotel in Cyprus.
The Brit boy was reportedly playing with his dad when he plunged from the fourth floor hotel corridor window to his death.
Police arrested the boy’s father, a 37-year-old man, after the horrific incident on Sunday evening.
The tragic fall took place shortly after the boy’s family had arrived for a summer holiday - they checked into the hotel on Saturday.
Paramedics rushed to the scene and the youngster was transported to Paphos General Hospital.
Local police said they were called to reports of the fall at around 6:40pm on Sunday.
Despite the best efforts of medics at the hospital the child died of his injuries.
The distraught family reportedly have another child, a five-year-old girl, with them on the holiday.
The boy’s father appeared before the Paphos district court on Monday morning, where police requested he be remanded in custody for eight days to facilitate their ongoing investigation
Cypriot police have launched an investigation into the circumstances around the tragic incident.
A post-mortem was scheduled for 12pm on Monday.
The scene remains cordoned off while police continue to investigate the fatal fall.
