Inter Milan star Alessandro Bastoni investigated in child prostitution probe
Inter Milan star Alessandro Bastoni is allegedly under investigation by Italian police as part of a probe into child prostitution.
He is alleged to have had a relationship with a 17-year-old girl.
The defender, who also plays for the Italian national team, will be questioned in the coming days, reports sports newspaper Gazzetta.
The Milan prosecutor’s office is reportedly investigating an “escort agency” in the city.
The company allegedly hosts all-inclusive parties and events which regularly entertain footballers and other VIPs.
It comes as it emerged today José Mourinho has been eyeing Bastoni for the centre-back spot at Real Madrid.
Bastoni is allegedly accused of having a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old girl, whom he met through the Ma.De escort agency.
The pair were allegedly set up by an employee at the agency, according to messages between them.
However, her witness testimony reportedly states that they did not have a sexual relationship.
Bastoni is the first footballer under investigation as part of the probe, which is investigating the network surrounding the shadowy agency.
In April, Italian newspaper Il Giorno reported financial police had uncovered the Ma.De events company in Cinisello Balsamo as an alleged front.
Roughly 70 names were tied to the exclusive events, including players from AC Milan, Inter Milan, other Serie A players and athletes from other sports.
It is not known if anyone who attended the events were involved in soliciting prostitution or committing any crimes.
27-year-old Bastoni has played for Inter Milan since 2017, though was on loan to Atalanta then Parma for some years.
Known for his passing and speed, the left-footed defender has also represented his country on the international stage, with 43 caps for the Italian team since 2020.
Before that, he represented the nation as a youth player.
