Sam Fox claims she discovered Jennifer Lopez while searching for backing dancers
Sam Fox is adamant she holds some responsibility for launching Jennifer Lopez's career over 30 years ago.
J-Lo, 53, has gone on to be one of the biggest names in Hollywood, smashing both the movie and music industry along the way.
Now, former glamour model and singer Sam, 56, has claimed she personally chose the star to be in the music video for her But The Pants Stay On single in 1991, prior to her success.
Following the shooting, J-Lo was hired to be a dancer on Sam's tour and she is now ready to take the plaudits for the discovery.
Talking to MailOnline at the Inspiration Awards For Women, she described how she met the Jenny from the Block singer, then 22, before she'd released any of her own movies or tunes.
Most iconic Grammys looks — from Jennifer Lopez's sheer gown to Lady Gaga's eggShe said: "I was auditioning women for my video when I broke America with my number one album.
"And then I had to look for dancers for my tour. And she walked in and I went, "Oh, she's very nice," as you do. And I chose her."
Sam also opened up on her recent wedding to wife Linda Olsen, gushing the 48-year-old has made her the "happiest woman in the world".
The duo were forced to postpone their planned 2020 wedding due to Covid. They eventually tied the knot in June last year at the fourth attempt and she revealed she couldn't have hoped for a better day.
"I'm the happiest woman in the world. Yeah, and I hope it lasts for erm, you know, about 60, 70, yeah, why not?"
J-Lo also said "I do" last summer, eventually marrying Ben Affleck - almost two decades after the pair were first engaged.
The singer/dancer revealed recently how the Batman star, 50, planned their lavish Las Vegas wedding in July all by himself.
"He has an amazing eye and incredible taste," she said. "And I think that's why we ran off to Vegas! It took all the pressure off the big family wedding that we were having. But everything we do, we try to do it together. He planned the whole Vegas wedding."
Their second ceremony was more of a joint effort, however, with J-Lo admitted it was a "stressful job".
