Body found in water sparks huge emergency services presence at Salford Quays
A large emergency services presence has descended on part of Salford Quays this afternoon after a body was found in the water. Police, paramedics and firefighters have all been seen outside Salford Watersports Centre this afternoon (December 5).
An image shared with the Manchester Evening News shows at least three Greater Manchester Police vehicles in attendance. Two fire engines, an ambulance, and a rapid response vehicle can also be seen.
It’s understood more emergency services vehicles have joined the scene since the image was taken. Details on the nature of the incident are yet to be confirmed but the M.E.N. understands a person has tragically been found dead in the water.
GMP, Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service and North West Ambulance Service have all been approached for comment. Updates will be posted in this blog when they are available.
