Rush-hour meltdown as Storm Claudia floods lines and forces mass cancellations

Passengers on Chiltern Railways, London Northwestern Railway, Northern Rail, TransPennine Express, and other services are facing rush-hour chaos due to Storm Claudia’s relentless fury

Train services across the country are experiencing delays and cancellations as "persistent and heavy" rain continues to cause widespread disruption.

Storm Claudia is sweeping through the UK, prompting amber weather warnings and increasing the risk of flooding. National Rail reports conditions are particularly severe in parts of the Southwest of England and Northern England, where some services have been suspended or are experiencing significant delays.

Several routes are affected on Friday, including TransPennine Express and Northern services. In Devon, heavy rainfall has already flooded the line between Exeter St Davids and Barnstaple, with replacement taxis and coaches running until at least the end of Sunday.
