40-year-old charged with fraud after allegedly posing as driving instructor

A woman was set to appear in court to face fraud charges related to being a driving instructor.
Joanne Sharples has been charged with six counts of fraud by false representation.
The prosecution case against the 40-year-old has been brought by the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency.
The specifics of the charges allege that the defendant ‘dishonestly made a false representation by claiming to be an instructor as named in the register of approved instructors’.
The charges also allege that she did so ‘intending to make a gain for herself.
The six charges cover dates between February and November 2024 in the Culcheth, Irlam, Cadishead, and Eccles areas.
