The rock music scene was again hit by grief with the news of the death of David Roach, vocalist of Junkyard. Roach passed away at the age of 59.

The sad news was shared through Junkyard’s official account on August 2. It was revealed there that Roach had been suffering from severe cancer.

"It is with deep sorrow, we announce the death of David Roach. After a brave struggle against cancer, David died peacefully last night at home, in a loving hug from his wife," said Junkyard’s official statement quoted from Billboard, August 4.

The group from Los Angeles remembers the late as a great musician and figure of a man. In addition to pursuing the band, he is also known as a figure who dedicates himself to his family.

"He is an artist, performer, songwriter, and a talented singer" but above all, he is a dutiful father, husband, and brother. Our prayers are with the entire Roach family and everyone who loves him," said Junkyard.

David Roach has gone through the ups and downs in the music industry as Junkyard’s frontman. Having hiatus and returning in a few years, David’s condition worsened in March 2025.

He was diagnosed with malignant cancer which made him have to take a break from severe activity. Family and relatives had opened donations through GoFundMe for the musician’s treatment costs, but God had other plans.
