One of the victims of serial rapist Metropolitan police officer David Carrick has spoken out about how he "broke" her during a year-long campaign of physical and psychological abuse.

The woman, who is too scared to reveal her identity, said that she had never "felt so isolated and alone" during Carrick's horrific abuse.

Revealing a series of sick and degrading acts, she said that he had locked her in a cupboard while she was naked, whipped her with a metal chain and urinated on her.

He also installed CCTV cameras around his house so that he could watch her from his phone when he was out.

Recalling the abuse, she told MailOnline: "I was not allowed to see family or friends. I was told consistently I was a whore and a slut.

"I was ridiculed, teased, and shamed. I was told what to wear, what I could eat and what amounts.

"I was instructed to walk behind, not beside or in front. I was whipped; urinated on and locked naked in a cupboard. At times, made to sleep naked on the floor.

"My chest was sat on; I was strangled, kicked, and threatened. Text messages wishing me dead by car crash or cancer were sent, with a desire to ‘piss’ on my grave once dead. I was told I was worthless and would be better off dead."

The offences were committed between 2003 and 2020

Carrick, who was in the Dip Protection command, has pleaded guilty to 49 offences between 2003 and 2020 - including 24 counts of rape on eight women, false imprisonment, controlling and coercive behaviour and sexual assault.

The Met Police had received nine complaints about the armed officer over the course of two decades but allowed him to continue working.

The victim recalled that she'd been waiting for a taxi when Carrick first walked past her, before turning around, taking her hand, kissing it and saying: "I'm gonna marry you, one day."

She said that the officer would often brag about important people he was guarding, including Theresa May and Boris Johnson.

The victim recalled how Carrick's abuse initially started as sex games that didn't appear "sinister" at first, but that as the weeks went by things took a turn and he began accusing her of "stealing money" or "talking to some other man".

Carrick then began punishing her for her alleged misdeeds, she said that he would "thrash" her with a metal whip, leaving her "red raw".

He subjected his victims to degrading abuse

She also revealed that Carrick would insist she go around the house naked and would push her into a cupboard under the stairs, leaving her there for "hours at a time" as an alternative punishment.

But it wasn't just physical abuse that she was subjected to, she added: "He told me he’d kill me and that no-one would miss me, I was old, fat and had no friends.

"He just mentally broke me down bit by bit, and left me feeling that wherever I ran, he would be able to find me and I’d never escape."

If she ever threatened to call the police, she said Carrick would respond: "I am the police – I am the law!”

The officer's controlling behaviour led to her plummeting from a size 14 to a size 6 in just 11 months as Carrick restricted what she was allowed to eat.

Noticing the drastic difference, her sister begged her to leave him.

Soon after, Carrick went into another rage and threw a Christmas tree into the loft that she had just decorated.

After the incident she told him "I can't do this anymore" and he came at her with a whip.

He is due to be sentenced next month (Central News <[email protected]>)

She said that something inside her "snapped" and the next day while Carrick was at work she went to her GP to tell her what was happening — where she was told to call the police's domestic violence unit.

She got out of the abusive relationship and went to stay with her sister 100 miles away, taking the metal whip with her so that Carrick couldn't use it on someone else.

But it wasn't until after Carrick's arrest in October 2021 that she felt able to come forward to tell her story.

11 other victims also came forward and the disgraced officer will be sentenced for his 49 offences next month.
