Sony has confirmed that there will be a slew of titles available during the PSVR 2's launch window, including 15 new titles, heading to the platform.

There's only a month left until the PSVR 2 will finally let me fulfil my wildest Resident Evil Village fantasies by bringing me closer to Lady Dimitrescu than I ever dreamed was possible. Ahem, what I meant to say is we will all have plenty of games to play when the PSVR 2 launches as Sony has confirmed more than a dozen new titles that have been added to the ever-growing lineup of games available for the virtual reality headset at launch.

In a post on the PS Blog, a whole bevvy of additional new titles heading to the headset during its launch window have been revealed. This includes first-person puzzler The Last Clockwork; the first VR American football game NFL Pro Era; and What The Bat, a charming game that answers the pressing question – how would I live if my hands were replaced with a pair of baseball bats?

Other games you might already have in your PS5 library are also receiving support for PSVR 2, most notably Resident Evil Village, which will receive a full VR mode similar to the one found in Resident Evil 7, as well as Gran Turismo 7.

Polyphony has said that almost all the game's different online and local modes, apart from split-screen multiplayer, will be playable in VR in Gran Turismo 7. The game will also make ample use of the PSVR 2's advanced eye tracking and foveated rendering features.

Although the lack of split-screen features may disappoint some players, it's understandable if you consider the number of cutbacks that would probably be required to make it work properly. This does make me wonder why more games don't use VR as an alternative to split-screen or for asymmetric multiplayer experiences like Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes.

Blink and you'll miss this BAFTA-winning beauty

The one thing that has this artsy, pretentious old git most excited though, is that the PSVR 2 is getting a new version of the BAFTA-winning experimental adventure game Before Your Eyes.

Originally released for the PC in 2021, Before Your Eyes sees players take a trip with the Ferryman to their final resting place. While pondering what awaits them in the afterlife, the character's life flashes before their eyes, and they are forced to relive and reflect on how they lived and the choices they made.

What makes Before Your Eyes unique and so compelling is that it is controlled entirely by reading a player's head movements and when they bink – a perfect fit for the PSVR 2 headset's eye-tracking capabilities.

I can't wait to see how VR is going to make this already deeply impactful game even more immersive when it launches for PSVR 2 on March 10.
