Three UK customers report trouble making 999 calls amid network issues

Mobile network Three UK is investigating reports that some customers are unable to make 999 calls.

Three, EE and TalkTalk users have reported issues getting onto the internet and receiving calls to their phones today.

Issues were first reported around 1 pm today, with thousands saying they can’t place or receive calls – or access the internet.

Vodafone is also reportedly having issues with landlines, mobile internet and no signal.

A spokesperson for Vodafone told Metro: ‘Vodafoneis not experiencing any widespread outages at present.

‘We’re aware of an issue with Three’s network which is affecting customers from any operator attempting to make contact with Three customers.’

Down Detector appears to show reports of O2 customers experiencing issues, but O2 told Metrothere are none.

Three said earlier: ‘We’re aware some customers are experiencing issues with calls at the moment. Our team are working hard to get things resolved as soon as possible.’

Some Three users have said they ‘can’t even call emergency services’.

In an update this evening, a Three UK spokesperson said: ‘There is an ongoing issue affecting a small percentage of voice services and we are working hard to fix it. Data services are unaffected.

‘We are aware of a number of reports that customers have not been able to connect to 999 calls. Data from the emergency services shows that normal volumes of 999 calls being placed via our network are being connected.

‘We are taking these reports very seriously and are investigating this urgently, and we apologise if anyone has been unable to successfully contact emergency services.

‘While it is likely your call will connect correctly to 999, if you have any issues please try another network or landline. Please do not try and test 999 calls from your device as it may prevent genuine calls being answered quickly.’

The company’s coverage checker is also unavailable on its website.
