Shooting near London school sparks manhunt for gunman as man is hospitalized
A gunman is on the loose following a shooting near a school which has left a male victim aged in his 20s in hospital with police called to Harlesden, London, after reports of gunfire
A man aged in his 20s has been rushed to hospital after a shooting close to a school with the gunman still being hunted by the police.
Emergency services were called to Washbourne Road in Harlesden, London, at around 9.10pm last night following reports of gunfire. Metropolitan Police attended alongside London Ambulance Service (LAS) paramedics and found a man believed to be in his 20s with a gunshot wound.
Paramedics tended to the victim and raced the victim to hospital via ambulance but his injuries are not deemed to be life threatening. A crime scene remains in place on Washbourne Road today where police are carrying out their investigations.
There has been no arrest made in connection with the shooting with the gunman still at large, said police, and enquiries are continuing into the attack.
The Met Police issued a statement about the gun violence. A spokesperson said: "Police were called at approximately 9.10pm on Thursday, 19 December to reports of a shooting in Washbourne Road.
"Officers and London Ambulance Service attended and found a man, believed aged in his 20s, with a gunshot injury. He was taken to hospital for treatment – his condition is not life-threatening A crime scene remains in place. There has been no arrest and enquiries into the circumstances continue."

A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 9.14pm yesterday to reports of a shooting incident in Washbourne Road, NW10. We sent resources to the scene, including ambulance crews, a paramedic in a fast response car, an incident response car and London’s Air Ambulance. The first of our crews arrived in five minutes. Our crews treated a man at the scene, before taking him to a London major trauma centre by road.”
