Islington: Man faces murder charge following the stabbing death of a 16-year-old boy

A man has been charged with the murder of a 16-year-old boy in north London.
Francie McCarthy, 21, is set to appear at Thames Magistrates’ Court on Saturday.
The Metropolitan Police said McCarthy, of Tufnell Park, is charged with the murder of Deonte Mowatt-Slater, who was stabbed to death.
Deonte was found with injuries on Courtauld Road, Islington, just after midnight on Tuesday 22 October.
The force said the teenager died at the scene.
A post-mortem gave the cause of death as stab wounds.
Deonte’s family continue to be supported by specially trained police officers.
Detective Chief Inspector Neil John, who is leading the investigation, said the Met Police’s "thoughts remain with Deonte’s family at this extremely difficult time".
He added inquiries are ongoing and local policing officers "are continuing to carry out patrols in the area".
