Sean ’Diddy’ Combs has reportedly been moved to a different area of the Metropolitan Detention Center where there is ’special protection’

Sean ’Diddy’ Combs has reportedly been moved to a different section of the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, New York City, where there is ’special protection’.

It is the same area of the jail where convicted cryptocurrency fraudster Sam Bankman-Fried is being held, sources recently claimed. Diddy was arrested last week in NYC and is being held at the detention centre that has a reputation for violence.

It’s been said that the unit is a barracks-style area housing 18 to 20 inmates who require greater protection such as high-profile defendants and people who cooperate with investigations. It was described as general population with more security.

The 54-year-old music mogul was apprehended by Homeland Security Investigations agents on 16 September and indicted the following day on serious offences, including sex trafficking, racketeering, and transportation for prostitution, before being taken to jail. He has pleaded not guilty but has been denied bail twice.

The Mirror have reached out to his reps for comment. Meanwhile, a spokesperson for the Federal Bureau of Prisons told NBC News: “For privacy, safety, and security reasons the (FBOP) does not provide information about conditions of confinement, including housing assignments or internal security practices for any particular incarcerated individual."

It comes after it was reported that Diddy hasn’t been getting any special privileges while there. A source disclosed to People magazine how Diddy is being treated, saying: "He is being treated like any other detainee awaiting trial." They also mentioned that the star was "placed on suicide watch upon admittance to the facility as a precaution" as per protocol for high-profile inmates.

The insider added: "He has three minor children, two of whom now have no living parent available with him incarcerated." Four of his seven children have neither parent available with him incarcerated. "Mr Combs has been able to speak briefly to family members and his children via phone," they added.

Meanwhile, his attorneys Marc Agnifilo and Teny R Geragos described the Brooklyn prison as "not fit for pre-trial detention" in a rejected bail proposal and condemned its conditions as "horrific".

Last Night rapper Diddy denied all allegations and entered a not guilty plea to every charge. His next court appearance is in early October. His legal team added to People that the Bad Boy Records founder is remaining "strong, healthy, and focused on his defence."

They added: "He is committed to fighting this case and has full confidence in both his legal team and the truth."
