Young man loses arm after being stabbed in Manchester with man and woman arrested
A 26-year-old man was found injured in Moston, Manchester after allegedly being stabbed and it has since emerged that he has lost his arm as a result of the attack
A man is recovering in hospital after losing his arm in an alleged stabbing in Manchester.
Emergency services rushed to Ainsbrook Avenue in Moston, Manchester in the early hours of Tuesday, July 2 to reports of a stabbing. When police officers and paramedics arrived at the residential street they found a man aged 26 injured.
The victim was taken to hospital after suffering "significant life-changing injuries", according to Greater Manchester Police. Now, more than one month on from the attack, it’s understood that the victim lost one of his arms as a result of the stabbing, reports the Manchester Evening News.
At the time Greater Manchester Police said in a statement: "At around 4.50am this morning (Tuesday 2 July 2024), we were called to reports of a stabbing on Ainsbrook Avenue in Charlestown, Manchester. A man in his 20s has been taken to hospital with serious injuries, where he remains in life-threatening condition."
A male and female were later arrested in connection with the knife attack. No further action has been taken against the woman who was released but the man has been charged with attempted murder.
In a further statement GMP said: "A man has been charged with attempted murder following the stabbing of a 26-year-old man. Blane Louche, 28, of Moston has been charged with attempted murder and possession of an offensive weapon. The victim is still in a critical but stable condition in hospital after undergoing medical treatment."
The news comes after a man aged in his 20s was taken to hospital with stab injuries after being attacked in Portland Street, Manchester at 8:15pm on Monday. Greater Manchester Police said the victim was taken to hospital for treatment but his injuries were "not-life threatening".
The busy main road was taped off and the cordon stretched from the Jamboree restaurant to the junction with Aytoun Street. Videos shared on social media showed a number of police cars in attendance, with officers standing at either end of the tape. while other officers with torches scoured the area for evidence.
A man in his 20s has since been arrested in connection with the incident. The force said the arrested man has been held on suspicion of assault causing grievous bodily harm.
