President Volodymyr Zelensky’s forces launched a shock invasion into Russian territories at the weekend as they fight back against the Russian oppressors, with Putin’s next move unknown.

Panicking Vladimir Putin will attempt to drive the Ukrainian forces on Russian soil out at “all costs” according to an expert, as the panicking dictator attempts to wrestle back control of his war.

At the weekend President Volodymyr Zelensky’s menpunched a huge 20-kilometre hole deep inside Russia in its first invasion of Russia since the Second World War. Footage later showed its Armed Forces joking with each other and raising their flag after capturing the village of Guevo.

The shock move by his Ukrainian armies is said to have massively rattled the Russian warmonger. Expert Professor Anthony Glees, from the University of Buckingham, says Putin will next try to push the forces out - but will not consider using nuclear weapons as it is on Russian soil.

He told the Mirror: “It’s never easy to put oneself into the mind of a dictator, especially one like Putin. He’ll certainly have a next move constructed but he needs to be very careful because it he makes a false one, he’s had it.

“I would expect right now Putin is trying to assemble a task force to try to push Ukraine out of Russian territory at all costs. I expect a chum like Dmitry Medvedev, now deputy chair of the Russian National Security Council, or Sergey Lavrov perhaps, to start talking about nuclear weapons. But Putin is not suicidal and is not going to use them.

“He’s an evil genius when it comes to hanging on. I think Zelensky has him right now because Ukraine is on Russian soil. Might Putin be thinking of a peace offer? Mediated by China, perhaps? It’s not impossible.

“But again, with Kamala Harris in the ascendancy, and Trump degenerating into ever great barminess, he can’t count on the US forcing Zelensky’s hand. The next day or two should show us exactly what Putin’s next move is.”
Over the weekend it was reported Putin ordered more than 76,000 people living in Kursk to evacuate the war-torn area as Ukraine continues its offensive into Russia. Authorities are in the process of setting up temporary accommodation for the displaced residents from the border region, with up to 60 shelters being set up across eight regions.

Yesterday, Zelensky slammed Russian forces for igniting a massive blaze at a nuclear power plant in the nation’s south. The incident, which left black smoke billowing from Europe’s largest nuclear power plant, was branded a "provocation" from Moscow.

Officials in Ukraine have released horrifying footage showing a towering inferno issuing from a chimney stack at the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power station, situated in a Russian-held area of southeast Ukraine. Videos circulating online show ominous black smoke pouring out of the nuclear site.

Zelensky has accused Russia of using the facility as leverage against Ukraine and exploiting Western anxieties about potential escalation. "The Russian occupiers started a fire on the territory of the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant," Zelensky posted on Telegram.

"Currently, the radiation indicators are normal. But as long as Russian terrorists retain control over the nuclear plant, the situation is not and cannot be normal. From the first day of the seizure of the Zaporizhzhia NPP, Russia has been using it purely for blackmailing both Ukraine and the whole of Europe and the world."

Prof Glees added: “For me, Putin is first and foremost a KGB professional. He maintains a poker face, designed to conceal his thinking and his likely behaviour, which working to get his way with violence and threats. He’s doing this now, of course, on a massive scale.

“But as I said, it looks as if Zelensky’s forces have good air cover, and that makes it very hard for Putin. Zelensky’s master stroke makes it hard for Putin to use more thermobaric weapons because this is Russian soil.

“He’d be killing a lot of the people he claims he wants to protect, ditto if he tries to burn down the Zaporizhzhia nuclear plant (which has been shut down but is still full of nuclear waste) that’d cause havoc within Russian lands.”
