Jordan Felton was jailed after British Transport Police officers stopped him by coincidence at Hull railway station, only to discover he was carrying two combat knives before he claimed he planned ’to kill someone’

A train passenger stopped by chance had two combat knives in his pockets - and told officers ’I’m going to kill someone’.

Babyfaced Jordan Felton has been jailed after police stopped him at Hull Railway Station. Officers approached the 25-year-old as part of routine patrols to root out county lines drug dealing, where young people are recruited to carry drugs between towns and cities. But officers found something far more sinister after stopping Felton, from Bradford, on May 24 this year.

Police said Felton "raised the officers’ suspicions" who then preceded to search him. British Transport Police (BTP) officers discovered the two deadly knives in his jacket pocket and rucksack, which he initially claimed were for fishing. He then told the officers he was unstable and going to kill someone, the force said, before threatening to bite their noses off.

A spokesperson for the force said Felton, of Wenborough Lane, Bradford, pleaded guilty to two charges of possession of a bladed article and was sentenced to six months in jail at Bradford Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday July 3.

Investigating officer DS Karen Grave said: “Felton was arrested during a routine patrol by our county lines taskforce. Thanks to the expertise of our officers their suspicions were immediately alerted.

“Thankfully, due to their intervention, two deadly weapons are now off the railway network and the streets. Our County Lines taskforce police the railway 24/7 – criminals may not spot us – but as Felton can testify, we’ve always got our eye on them.”
