Love Island fans slam Shaq as he vows to 'keep Tanya close' after two days
The new season of Love Island only started on Monday, but fans already have the ick with Shaq after he promised to ‘keep close to Tanya’ in the villa.
On Wednesday night, ITV2 viewers watched as Shaq cosied up to Tanya in the South African villa and they shared an awkward kiss, that many thought was “forced.”
While they’ve only been together for two days, Shaq is set on staying with his partner and seems loved-up already, while Tanya’s head was turning towards new bombshell Tom.
However, Shaq could not be swayed that easily and told Tanya: “I just want to keep you close. I’m your little baby. I want to keep you close.”

“You just pied me. That’s taken a hit to my ego,” he said, as Tanya replied: “What you need to remember is I really, really, really want to kiss you.”
Fans were creeped out by Shaq’s possessive statement as they urged him to “calm down” as it’s only early days. One viewer tweeted: “Shaq needs to take time about “I want to keep you close.” It’s day TWO #LoveIsland.”
As another added: “Why is Shaq so attached? It’s day 2/3? Calm down."

While others compared his behaviour to Luca’s possessive hugs and chat on the show last year with a photo of him squeezing Gemma along with the tweet: “Shaq: ‘I just want to keep you close’ umm…”
One fan even suggested: “Tanya doesn’t even want David lol she just wants to escape her hostage situation with brother Shaq by any means.”
In the Beach Hut, Shaq revealed he felt like Tanya was “definitely something special” while Tanya said she “can’t give [a kiss to] him too soon.”
Later Tanya did kiss Shaq but many viewers thought she felt 'pressured' to do so (ITV)Yet, later when the couple were in bed Shaq mentioned the awkward moment from earlier, before leaned in and Tanya kissed him.
Fans were not convinced that Tanya wanted to kiss Shaq, but suggested she felt “pressured” into it after his comments.
“I think Tanya only kissed Shaq cause she felt pressured” a viewer tweeted, as another agreed: “Shaq held Tanya at gunpoint for that kiss”
