West Yorkshire Police were called to a fire in Bradford in which a child tragically died with four other people - including three children - taken to hospital, they have confirmed

A child has tragically died in a house fire in Bradford, police have revealed.

A woman and three other children have meanwhile been treated in hospital after escaping the blaze, authorities said, although their injuries are deemed to be survivable. West Yorkshire Police were called to the house on a residential street in the city shortly after 1am on Sunday morning.

The force said in a statement: "At 1.08 this morning (5 May) police were called by the fire service to reports of a serious house fire on Kingsdale Drive, Bradford. A woman and three children managed to escape the property and were taken to hospital for treatment. Their injuries are not life-threatening.

"A fourth child was found inside the address and was sadly pronounced deceased at the scene. A scene is currently in place at the address and police are working with the fire investigators to establish the exact cause of the fire."

Details of the age and gender of the child who sadly died have not been confirmed, although Mail Online is reporting the victim was a 10-year-old girl. The Mirror has contacted West Yorkshire Police for further confirmation.

The house remained sealed off on Sunday, Yorkshire Live reports, while an upstairs window appeared to have been either kicked out or forced out by the fire.
