Former partner will still stand trial after tragic discovery made

A mum has admitted burying the bodies of two dead babies at her home after hiding their births.

Egle Zilinskaite, 30, was held along with ex-partner Zilvinas Ledovskis, 48, after the grim discovery in Bridgend, Wales, in November 2022.

She today pleaded guilty to two counts of concealing the birth of a child and two of preventing the lawful and decent burial of a dead body.

Ledovskis pleaded not guilty to all four charges and will stand trial at Cardiff Crown Court on November 25.

Zilinskaite was released on conditional bail to be sentenced at the same court on December 5 this year.

The tragic tots - "Baby A" and "Baby B" are believed to be twins and died some time between January 1, 2017 and November 26, 2022.

Police swooped on the end-terrace home in Maes-Y-Felin after the tragic discovery was made.

At the time Detective Superintendent Darren George said: “My thoughts remain with anyone affected by this traumatic incident."

The pair, who are no longer together, have both been ordered not to contact each other, must report to a local police station and not apply for or hold any passports or travel documents.
