Lancashire Police were called to the crash in Leyland, Lancashire, in which a woman was injured and two dogs were killed after a teenager allegedly ploughed into them on a motorbike

Two dogs have been killed and a woman left injured in a horror crash, police say.

Officers were called to the scene on a road in Leyland, Lancashire, early on Thursday morning after reports of a collision between a motorbike and a woman walking two dogs. The victim, a woman in her 50s, suffered a minor leg injury.

However very sadly the two dogs were killed, Lancashire Police confirmed. An 18-year-old man from Leyland was later arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, criminal damage, ABH, disqualified driving, driving no insurance.

The teen has since been bailed until July pending further enquiries, LancsLive reports. In a statement on Friday, a force spokesperson said: "We were called at about 10.15am yesterday (Thursday, April 4) to a report of a collision on Royal Avenue, Leyland between a motorcycle and a woman walking two dogs. The pedestrian, a woman in her 50s, suffered a minor leg injury but very sadly the two dogs were killed.

"Following enquiries an 18-year-old man from Leyland was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, criminal damage, ABH, disqualified driving, driving no insurance. They have now been bailed until July."
