Coronation Street confirms how Lauren was 'killed' as murder weapon found

Coronation Street viewers saw police reveal a cause of death for missing teenager Lauren Bolton on Friday night, after a gruesome discovery.

Following traces of blood and human tissue being found on the curtains of her flat this week, detectives revealed in the latest episode that evidence suggested she was dead. They believed she had been killed, and they soon shared how they believed she had died.

DS Swain also confirmed a likely murder weapon had been located, after blood and human tissue was found on an item from the flat. Swan claimed to murder suspect Roy Cropper on Friday that given the evidence found, she had likely been hit over the head as the blood splatter and tissue found was consistent with blunt head trauma.

She also revealed that a leg from a broken chair had been found, and this was covered in blood too. Officers now believe someone attacked and killed Lauren with the chair leg, likely hitting her over the head.

While no body has been found, they are convinced they have now solved her fate. Not only that, but DS Swain arrested Roy on Friday night after questioning if him cleaning Lauren's flat days ago proved he was covering his tracks.

The soap has not confirmed whether Lauren is dead and what happened to her, after she vanished weeks ago. We also do not know the identity of the mystery boyfriend who was harassing her in the lead-up to her vanishing act, with them also appearing to hurt her as she was shown covered in bruises.

It comes as eagle-eyed soap fans noticed something on Lauren actress Cait Fitton's Instagram account which 'proves' the character's fate on the soap. On her official page, in her bio, it reads: "Actor. Previously Lauren in Coronation Street," before listing her managers.

Actress Cait previously opened up about the danger Lauren was in as she dropped clues about the identity of her boyfriend. She shared exclusively with The Mirror: "There's a lot of danger there. She's a vulnerable 18 year-old-girl so she's bound to make mistakes, but she's still young.

"It's a shock for Lauren because she blurts out [her secret] to Max, but Sabrina as well, and she's not that close to Sabrina so it's quite complicated. Even though she can't accept it herself she's expecting other people to, which is interesting to play but there will be a lot of danger ahead. I can't reveal too much but it's a very exciting storyline.

"Corrie always do an amazing job smashing all their serious storylines, so all I can say is stay tuned. Lauren lacks a lot of self-confidence and self-love, which is why she's doing a lot of what she's doing. Things didn't work out with Max, she lives next to Sabrina, there's still that barrier up between them.

"She wants to be close with Max but doesn't wanna interfere with their relationship. But she's visioning what she wants for herself with these massive obstacles in her way, and she does what she has to to get what she wants."
