Karren Brady and Tim Campbell have revealed the secret scenes of them spending time together that The Apprentice viewers don't get to see on the BBC show.

The two business stalwarts are each put in charge of a team by Lord Sugar, who relies on them to relay how the candidates have performed in the tasks so he can make an informed decision on who to fire. BBC viewers rarely get to see Karren and Tim together other than when they are by Lord Sugar's side in the boardroom, but in an exclusive interview with Mirror, the duo revealed they do get to spend time together behind-the-scenes of the show.

Karren explained: "When the task is set, we see each other and then Tim will go off following whoever he's following and I'll go off following whoever I'm following – very often we come back together later on because the teams will be doing the same pitch one after the other. We see each other on boardroom days.

"Sometimes we’re in the same hotel but other times, like in Scotland [ during episode one], we’re in different hotels. If we’re in the same hotel, we’ll have dinner together – normally typing and answering emails." Reflecting on his role as Lord Sugar's advisor, Tim continued: "People think it’s a jolly for us. But actually we are working because we're supporting Lord Sugar helping him make a decision, capturing information that can feed into his decision about who he's going to pick for his business partner.

"So it's definitely about us not being front and centre because we're watching them, but then we report back to Lord Sugar so he can make the best decision in the boardroom." Karren revealed they do get to "fly out together" as Tim shared: "We do go on nice trips and we fly out together. But as Karren said, we are on task following our candidates and then we'll meet and then share notes and then come back."

Karren explained that they can check up on each other's teams during the tasks and this often gives them a completely different perspective on their own team. She said: "We read each other’s notes but very often, we could be in the same country but in different places.

"So let's say it's an innovation task, and we have to go to a design agency – my design agency might be in Canary Wharf and Tim's might be in Windsor. I will think my team are doing what they’re doing and then I see Tim’s and I think, ‘Oh my team's not doing so well’ or I see Tim's and I think they're doing much better than Tim’s. We read each other's notes and we have a little Whatsapp group where we send each other photos."
