Katie Price has revealed why she failed to appear in court earlier this week, as a judge found the star guilty of driving offences in her absence.

The former glamour model, 45, was slapped with an £880 fine on Tuesday after being found guilty of driving without a licence and insurance. The 45-year-old mum-of-five didn't show up to her court hearing at Northampton Magistrates' Court, with no reason given for her absence at the time.

Speaking on the latest episode of her podcast The Katie Price Show, Katie has now opened up about why she wasn't there to hear the verdict on Tuesday - citing health reasons and a medication shortage as the reason for skipping court. "I'm so drained at the minute," Katie began as she explained things to her listeners.

The star - who is planning a career comeback with the help of her new boyfriend JJ Slater - continued: "Behind the scenes there's been court cases that I'm supposed to have gone to and I haven't been able to mentally. There's a shortage of ADHD meds so I can't get hold of any. They reckon they'll come back in March."

Katie was diagnosed with Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) - a condition that affects people's behaviour - in July last year. ADHD can be treated using medicine or therapy, but a combination of both is often best. Last Autumn, the Government announced that there were national supply issues affecting medications for the treatment of ADHD.

In December, Katie revealed why she was choosing not to follow doctors' advice for taking medication to treat her ADHD. "They have put me on something, but you can get Ritalin and all this stuff but I don't want to rely on medication," she told Jamie Laing on his Private Parts podcast. "They've put me on something mild and it makes me really sleepy so I haven't taken it," she added.

Continuing on her podcast this week, Katie added: "So where I have a lot going on in, my poor head is is like … the only thing that keeps me focused is the kids, podcast and the work that I do. It’s not that I don’t have routine, it’s all the other pressures behind the scenes. Soon as that comes in, I will probably be a different person."

Katie was found guilty on Tuesday after being charged and accused of driving her Range Rover on the A14 in Kettering, Northamptonshire, without the necessary documents on August 2, 2023. This comes after Katie was banned from driving in December 2021.

Previously, Katie received a two-year driving ban and a 16-week suspended jail sentence for drink-driving while disqualified and uninsured after crashing her BMW near Partridge Green on September 28, 2021. The court heard that this was not her first offence, as she had five previous driving bans following an incident near her Sussex home.
