The final England squad before Euro 2024 will be announced on Thursday, as the Three Lions prepare for the March internationals.

Gareth Southgate's side have scheduled friendlies against Brazil and Belgium at Wembley at the end of this month. Those will be the last outings before Southgate names his final squad for this summer's tournament in May.

The games at Wembley this month represent the final chance for players to work their way into Southgate's plans. The England boss is dealing with several injuries which could open the door for some fringe players.

Meanwhile, the likes of Cole Palmer and Kobbie Mainoo may be called up having starred in their breakthrough seasons. Here, Mirror Football brings you all you need to know ahead of the squad announcement.

When is the England squad announced?

The squad will be announced on Thursday at 2pm. The squad list will be posted on the Football Association's social media accounts, as is standard for in-season international breaks.

England boss Southgate will then hold a press conference in which he will explain the reasons behind his selections, as is also standard with these squad announcements.

How to watch

While the squad announcement, will simply be a social media post, the FA will likely stream Southgate's press conference, as will broadcasters such as Sky Sports.

Southgate is facing several injury concerns ahead of the upcoming international break. Reece James, Luke Shaw, Nick Pope, Kieran Tripper, Harry Maguire, Jack Grealish and Trent Alexander-Arnold have all been ruled out.

Anthony Gordon was also substituted early during Newcastle's defeat to Chelsea on Monday, though the Magpies have played that issue down. Those issues could see the uncapped Mainoo and Jarrad Branthwaite earning call-ups.

Meanwhile, Palmer is also likely to be included having made his Three Lions debut last November. And Ivan Toney is available to be called up again after returning from his ban for breaching FA betting rules.

Southgate's view

England boss Southgate is desperate to make it a successful summer for this side. They have been drawn against Denmark, Slovenia and Serbia in the group stage, with the Three Lions hoping to go all the way.

“I have stood here after quite a few draws and you always feel the same way. You can look at it on paper but the games are not played on paper. We are hugely excited to be part of the tournament, we know the expectation at home," he said when the draw was made.

"We have developed a lot as a team over the last few years and we are getting used to these big games, so we are ready for that expectation and we hope we can give our supporters some more brilliant nights like we have over the last few tournaments.”
