A woman was rushed to hospital after her Audi crashed into a lamp post and flipped over in Manchester on Wednesday night (March 13).

Emergency services, including paramedics, police and fire crews, quickly arrived at Briscoe Lane, near Newton Heath, following the crash. Two women were checked over at the scene before one was taken to hospital.

Shocking photos from the scene show a damaged lamp post and the silver car upside down, with several police cars and fire engines around. Greater Manchester Police have not yet given more details about the crash. Fire crews stayed for an hour to clear the scene and recover the car.
