Queen Camilla beamed as she has joined racegoers for a family day out at the annual Cheltenham horse racing festival today amid the latest royal drama.

She is making a solo appearance at day two of the horse racing meeting, where she will later present a trophy to the winner of The Queen Mother Champion Steeple Chase. Camilla's outing at the festival comes as the Royal Family tries to move on from the Mother's Day photo editing row following a snap that was released of the Princess of Wales and her children. Camilla is known for her love of horse racing and often attends Cheltenham as well as Royal Ascot with her husband King Charles. But today she was joined by son Tom Parker Bowles, daughter Laura Lopes and her husband Harry, alongside Camilla’s nephew Sir Ben Elliot.

The King did not join his wife today after taking a break from public facing duties while he undergoes treatment for cancer. However, Camilla wasn't the only royal at Cheltenham - joining her at the races was her niece Zara Tindall and her husband Mike. Zara is a committee member at Cheltenham racecourse as well as a former world champion equestrian and is also known for her love of the sport.

She opted for a chic navy pinstripe suit, which she teamed with a vibrant red hat and blouse. She was also seen indulging in a PDA with husband Mike, who looked smart in a suit and flat cap. Also there were Princess Eugenie and husband Jack Brooksbank, with the princess in a cream belted coat with matching hat.

The day was billed as Style Wednesday by festival organisers, with racegoers encouraged to wear sustainable fashion. The Queen wore an Anna Valentine ensemble – brown suede skirt, matching leopard print shirt and a dark green cashmere coat, with a wide brimmed Lock & Co hat. Among the punters were a number of celebrities including Aston Villa and England footballer Tyrone Mings and magician and gameshow presenter Stephen Mulhern.

It has been a busy week for Camilla so far, as she continues with royal duties while Charles has cancer treatment and the Princess of Wales recovers from abdominal surgery. On Monday, she led the Royal Family at the annual Commonwealth Day service at Westminster Abbey before hosting a Commonwealth Day reception later in the evening.

Meanwhile yesterday, she was immortalised as a Barbie doll and joked it had made her look 50 years younger. Camilla was presented with the toy, dressed in her outfit, in recognition of her work supporting the Women Of The World (Wow) Foundation as its president.

She held the miniature version of herself during a Buckingham Palace event celebrating Wow and quipped: "You've taken about 50 years off my life – we should all have a Barbie." Dame Helen Mirren, Baroness Doreen Lawrence, Spice Girl Mel B and Dame Kelly Holmes were some of the nation’s leading women invited to the event alongside schoolgirls and others who have contributed to the promotion of women and girls.

The one-off Barbie was dressed in a scaled down version of Camilla’s outfit, worn a number of times before, a blue Fiona Clare dress, black cape by Amanda Wakeley and Eliot Zed black boots. The doll’s hair was closely modelled on Camilla’s curls as was the jewellery worn by the toy which featured a Wow badge also worn by the Queen.

The presentation was made on board the WOW Girls Festival Bus which has toured the country promoting gender equality and made a final stop at the palace where the Queen toured it with Mathilde, Queen of the Belgians and the Duchess of Gloucester.
