Louis Walsh and Jedward's net worth as he brags about making '£5million'
Louis Walsh's net worth is a far cry from Jedward's, despite allegedly making millions from the twins.
The talent manager who is currently competing on Big Brother made a name for himself as the manager behind artists such as Westlife, Boyzone, Girls Aloud, Ronan Keating, Union J and Johnny Logan. His expertise in the music industry saw his acts go on to achieve global success with number-one hits spilling out of their ears.
But his first telly break came in 2001, sitting as a judge on the Irish edition of Popstars, before appearing on ITV's Popstars: The Rivals just one year later, where he went head-to-head against Pete Waterman. Louis' act, Girls Aloud, went on to win the show and later became one of the biggest-selling girl bands to come out of the UK.
With such astounding success comes a hefty bank balance. After all, Louis did take a cut of his artist's earnings during his time as their manager. But just what is he worth compared to Jedward? The trio have been locked in a bitter feud since the Irish twins found fame on The X Factor, where Louis was their mentor.
During Tuesday's instalment of Celeb Big Brother, Louis claimed to have made "five million" from the twins. But just what is Louis actually worth? Louis has an estimated net worth of £116million and lives back in Ireland, saying last year: "I'm living in Dublin all the time now and I love it." "I feel maybe 40 and I'm enthusiastic about life," added the down-to-earth star. "I like being busy."
Reality TV personality Stephen Bear faces court over fence row with councilBut while Louis is worth hundreds of millions, the same can't be said for Jedward who have been ranked the fifth most financially successful X Factor contestant, following the likes of One Direction, Little Mix and Leona Lewis. It was reported that the duo have an estimated net worth of around £5.1million sitting in their bank accounts.
It was claimed that the duo who despite not winning the former talent show have become one of the most recognisable acts from it were paid an eyewatering £1.2million for their appearance on Celebrity Big Brother back in 2011 and 2017. During the most recent episode of Big Brother, Louis revealed his true thoughts on the twins.
Coronation Street star Colson Smith asked the music mogul what the twins were really liked, with Louis responding: "They were vile. I got five million quid for them. I swear on my mother's life," he added before saying: "And they were vile. They were novelty. But great for the show."
The twins, however, did not take this lying down and took to Twitter to fume: "Louis Walsh is a cold-hearted b*****d who didn't even send us flowers when our mom died." In 2016, they made their feelings about Walsh very clear, sneering: "I think we are the most financially beneficial act of his career in the last 10 years."
