Geri Horner announces festival headline appearance amid Christian Horner scandal
Geri Horner was announced as one of the many famous faces headlining this year's Hay Festival in Wales.
The 51-year-old Spice Girl, along with Match of the Day host Gary Lineker, former prime minister Theresa May and Dame Judi Dench, will be speaking at the cultural and literary event - which spans over 11 days and attracts over 300,000 people to the Hay-on-Wye, Powys area.
Ginger Spice will be joining as an author after having written children's books including the Ugenia Lavender series. She also has an autobiography called If Only and released a book called Rosie Frost and the Falcon Queen last year. Sports star Gary will be appearing for the festival's Sports Day and Miriam Margolyes will discuss her Oh Miriam! memoir.
Other stars attending the event include iconic singer Bonnie Tyler, Stephen Fry, presenter Sir Lenny Henry, James Blunt, comedian David Baddiel, musician and activist Charlotte Church and more.
Hay Festival chief executive Julie Finch said: "In a year when more voters than ever in history will head to the polls, as at least 64 countries hold their elections, we present a programme to bring people together, respectfully exploring different perspectives and the power of storytelling to unite us.
Red Bull 2023 F1 season launch live stream as RB19 unveiled at New York event"With new venues on our free-to-enter Festival site and diverse new projects throughout the programme, this is a festival for everyone. Join us in a world of different ideas." It comes after Geri and her husband Christian Horner had a difficult few weeks after allegations that Christian conducted "inappropriate behaviour" towards a female colleague, which he strenuously denied and has since been cleared by an internal investigation by Red Bull.
The Red Bull boss has been at the centre of a scandal after WhatsApp messages were leaked which appeared to be written by Christian to his female colleague and Geri has been standing firm in her support of her husband with the couple being pictured at the Formula One Grand Prix of Saudi Arabia, the first race of the season.
She was recently seen rocking up for the Commonwealth Day Service and looked like she put the drama behind her. Sporting a natty hat in her signature white, which featured black lace detail, and a fitted white dress with a small black leather bag and matching stilettos, Geri smiled for the cameras as she made her way inside the Abbey where she mingled with guests.
