Fortnite Korra Skin release date – when does the skin unlock
Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2's secret skin is Korra from the Avatar franchise. Here's everything you need to know about her arrival in game later in the season.
While Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 is all about the Greek gods, and has a Fortnite battle pass focused on members of the pantheon, this season's secret skin is a crossover with Nickelodeon 's Avatar: The Last Airbender franchise, with Korra – the face of the sequel series, Avatar: The Legend of Korra – set to arrive in the game later this season. So not only will players be able to add legendary figures in Fortnite to their in-game locker like Zeus, Aphrodite, and Hades, but the current Avatar herself too.
In the Myths and Mortals update trailer, Epic Games gave us a brief glance at Korra, who was using her Waterbending abilities, hinting that the Avatar crossover will be a bit more in-depth than just a skin. Rumours have been swirling from Fortnite leakers like @ShiinaBR that a full-blown Avatar event pass will be arriving in-game in April, which could herald the arrival of other iconic figures from the series like Aang, Toph, Sokka, or edgy boy Zuko during the event, which would also open us up to Airbending, Firebending, and Earthbending alongside the confirmed Waterbending.
Fortnite Korra Skin release date
The Fortnite Korra Skin release date is set for Saturday, April 6. This is based on the Korra page on the current Battle Pass tab, which has a countdown of how many days players will have to wait until she arrives in-game. The page is only counting down the days until Korra arrives, however, based on most Fortnite updates, she should arrive in the game at around 12pm GMT / 7am EST / 4am PST when the update for the Avatar content arrives in game.
As for how to get the Korra skin, it's currently unknown, but based on past secret skins, you're going to have to earn the skin and any associated cosmetics by completing missions within the game. We won't know what those missions are until the update is released. However, considering Korra is seen using waterbending techniques in the trailer, we imagine you'll be using those skills to complete challenges and unlock the Fortnite Korra items.
