This comes as it has been revealed that Elton will be "break-dancing" down the red carpet next after his double knee replacement - after jumping off pianos in his "platform heels".

His partner David Furnish said that the first surgery earlier this year was a success - with the second op next month.

Speaking at his husband Elton John’s Aids Foundation viewing party, he said: "He is having his other knee done in a couple of weeks and by the time the summer has arrived, he will have two brand new spanking knees and I think we will see him break-dancing down the carpet next year."

Asked if the ops were because he jumped off too many of pianos in his career, he laughed: "In platform heels…that will do it."

He also said that Elton was keen to play more shows despite ending his touring days.

He added: "I don't think Elton is going to try to top Glastonbury. He drew a curtain over his touring career. I don't think he will stop performing completely. I think he will take advantage of opportunities to do little shows now and again, but he is not going to tour anymore, he has done that for 50 years, and he is enjoying being home with his family."

David said they had lots in the pipeline. "We are launching two stage musicals this year, a documentary on Disney Plus, a photo exhibition at the V&A, so it's still very busy. It hasn’t exactly slowed down in the Furnish-John household," he shared.

He also said that they would consider a musical featuring Elton’s back catalogue if the right project came along. "We are always looking at it. I haven’t found anything yet…if we were going to do it, we would want to do it in a way that was really innovative and really exciting and different so we are open to any great ideas and it's a wonderful catalogue. But at the moment with the two other musicals, we are quite busy at it is."
