Colson Smith revealed he would binge and then starve himself before 10st weight loss.

The Coronation Street star, who plays Craig Tinker, opened up on his weight loss journey with Celebrity Big Brother housemates Sharon Osbourne, Louis Walsh and David Potts. He said: “I lost weight when I was 18 through quite a strict diet and then, what I found was that I was gaining weight and then I’d try and diet again, the way I thought I needed to diet.”

“I wouldn’t eat for a day and a half. I'd just starve myself and then I’d be that hungry that I would like," he continued as Sharon added: “The floodgates would burst.” Colson explained: “I used to drive to KFC and I used to order three meals and then I would hate myself so I wouldn’t eat again for a day and a half and it would be that for months and months and months.”

"Rollercoaster," Sharon quipped as the Coronation Street actor said: "And one day I just decided." Sharon remarked: “You know people who don’t have to worry about their weight, they have no idea how hard it is… it's a killer.”

Louis: “You lost an awful lot Sharon, how much did you lose?” To which Sharon replied: "At one point I was 230.”

Colson added: “I am glad that I've done what I've done the way that I've done it and like I have the level of control that I've got, because it's like I have a discipline but then I also understand myself.” Opening up on his "supportive" girlfriend, he shared: "To be fair, she is very, very supportive, so if ever I’m having a bad day she tells me exactly what I need to hear… she’s very much a good egg.”

The ITV soap star shared his weight loss journey with his fans the short film Bored of Being the Fat Kid – which gave his fans an insight into how he managed to shed the pounds. In the film, he explained: "Being the kid who was on telly definitely put a target on my head.

"I got a hard time at school. I got a hard time for my job, and a hard time for the way I looked, so it was the worst of both worlds. You do get people saying, 'Oh my God you were amazing in Corrie tonight' but I’m less likely to acknowledge that than the ones saying 'You are literally the worst actor I’ve ever seen'.

"The comments are mostly about my appearance. I would say pretty much 99.9 percent of anything that’s written about me, I do see." Colson followed a specific diet plan with the help of life coach Rob Brennan.

He previously told Lorraine Kelly: "We worked through everything I could do to make it as easy as possible. So I have my breakfast and lunches delivered, and they’re still being delivered now, which means cooking I don't have to think about, I can just eat.

"And in terms of the gym, I’ve kind of kept in touch with the gym I’ve been going to in Manchester because they’re putting on lots of training programmes on their app. I’ve done the odd Joe Wicks PE, and then it’s just making the most out of the situation."

Celebrity Big Brother continues tonight at 9pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
