Lauren Goodger says daughter helped her out of darkest time after baby's death
Lauren Goodger says her young daughter helped her through her most painful time of her life after she tragically lost her baby minutes after giving birth.
In 2022, the star suffered unimaginable heartache when her second child Lorena didn't make it. The tot's tragic death came less than a week after her former boyfriend Jake McLean died in a car crash while on holiday in Turkey. She separated from boyfriend Charles Drury shortly after they lost their second daughter and the pair are “friends and co-parents” for the sake of Larose.
It is the youngster who has helped her rebuild her life following a traumatic time and now she feels ready to to make her triumphant return to TOWIE. Lauren has been talking to OK! Magazine about the comeback - and explained how she got through the painful period with help from her most important person.
The reality TV star, 37, first appeared on TOWIE in 2010, but then decided to call it a day in 2015. However, Lauren has recently returned to filming the ITVBe show. There had been whispers about Lauren's return for a number of years, but the time never felt right for her - until now.

In the beginning I was in shock. It took me a long time to really register what had happened. My body and my brain just couldn’t handle so much shock and trauma in one go so it sort of shut down to protect me.

"I’ll be completely honest, the reason I got through it all is because of Larose. She has kept me going and without her I probably wouldn’t be here. I’m in therapy and we’re working through it – I’m slowly healing.” Lauren has already filmed scenes at her home in Essex and with other original TOWIE stars like Amy Childs, as well as new faces including her friend, Junaid Ahmed.
Even though returning to filming burst her "mum bubble", Lauren knew instantly that she had made the right choice one she was back filming again. "I was going to go back two years ago but then I had Larose and then went through a terrible time with my second pregnancy and everything else, so it just wasn't ever the right time," she shared. "If the producers had spoken to me a year ago, I wouldn't have done it but I feel ready now.
"I wasn't nervous because TOWIE's sort of my home, but I've been in a mum bubble so the first day of filming was a complete shock," she told OK! "It's like driving a car though. You might not do it for 10 years, but then you get back in the driver's seat and pick it straight back up.
"You don't forget what you're doing. And when I was in mum mode, nothing else mattered for such a long time, but now I'm finding myself again. I'm remembering who I was before I became a mum and that's so important and healthy. All my friends have got jobs and work most mums do and I want Larose to see that I've got a job too."
