You've probably never seen a flight attendant in their pyjamas - which you should actually be thankful for.

Airlines like Emirates have become instantly recognisable thanks to their pristine uniform and strict dress code. The red hat, white scarf, crimson lipstick and high heels can be spotted from a mile away and add an air of luxury of class.

In recent years, the airline has come under fire for its long list of acceptable and unacceptable attire, but it's fair to say that even the most glamorous crew members need their sleep. An employee for the company has gone viral after showing off the Emirates pyjamas, as well as revealing the scary reason why they have to wear them.

Taking to TikTok, Emirates flight attendant Dani showed off her crew pyjamas. They consist of a red top with the word 'Crew' emblazoned on the back and a stripey pair of cotton trousers.

"During long haul flights, cabin crew will change into the pyjamas and take their break," she said. "If an emergency should occur while crew are on their break, and they don't have time to get changed into their normal uniform they can still be easily identified to customers."

Dani has built up an impressive 509,000 followers for shedding light on what it's really like to work as a flight attendant. In her most popular video, which has been viewed a whopping 24 million times, she discusses the airline's famous uniform.

"The hat is to be worn during boarding, disembarking and anytime we are in public [but] it can be removed when we are eating and drinking," she said. Dani added that the white scarf attached to the hat is secured by velcro and can easily come off when staff need to send it to the dry cleaners, which the company pays for.

"The hat should be worn slightly tilted forward and it must sit one inch above your eyebrows," she explained. "The scarf should be draped neatly around your neckline and the end of the scarf must be tucked into the draped part.
