It's a celebrity's worst nightmare when attending an awards ceremony, but Liza Koshy coolly brushed off an awkward moment.

As the Transformers : Rise of the Beasts star, 27, took to the Oscars red carpet at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood she looked stunning. However, the outfit, made up of a tight red gown and huge eight inch high heels, clearly caused chaos with her movement as the star took a tumble. Despite the embarrassing fall, the actress hilariously brushed it off and blamed an imaginary manhole.

As a number of onlookers rushed to try to help her back to her feet the star was heard saying: "That's alright. There was a man hole, y'all saw that?"

Fans were quick to comment on the moment online, with the fall shared around Twitter, formerly X. While some fans hit out at her impractical outfit, others leapt to her defence and praised her for how she reacted to the incident.

One user said: "Liza Koshy's stumble on the­ red carpet at the Oscars will always be remembe­red, but the way she owne­d it with confidence and flair was just as memorable­! Her witty response showe­d her cool under pressure­. While many were quick to joke­ about the slip, Liza showed her sass and grace­ through humor.

While a second queried whether it was an intended fall, another joked: "As she's trying to stand up we hear someone yelling 'Shake it off, shake it off! That never helped in Little League when I was 8yrs old. It ain't gonna help on the #Oscars2024 red carpet either.'"

Elsewhere on the red carpet, Vanessa Hudgens announced she is expecting to become a mum for the first time. She shared her growing bump as she beamed at photographers while cradling her tummy.

Bradley Cooper also made a sweet appearance, bringing his mum along for the ceremony. Many thought Gigi Hadid was set to join the nominee, but instead he smiled broadly alongside his matriarch Gloria Campano.
