Mike Tyson has already made prediction for how Jake Paul boxing fight will go

Boxing legend Mike Tyson made a prediction for how a fight against Jake Paul would go during a podcast appearance two years ago.

YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul will fight former undisputed heavyweight world champion Tyson on July 20 at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. There is a 30-year age gap between the two and it's unclear if their fight will be professionally sanctioned or will go ahead as an exhibition bout.

Tyson brushed off the boxing abilities of Paul when asked if he could beat the influencer on the Full Send podcast. “So f***ng easy but I would never, “he said. “It’s my own family. He's got balls, I'm talking about real balls like 'F*** you mother****er'. [His] punches you can see coming a mile away, you can see that coming a mile away. I’m 55, I can see that coming a mile away."

'Iron Mike' said he would only need four weeks of training to get in shape for the fight, adding: “I would beat these f***ers [Jake and Logan Paul]. I’d go straight at them, there would be no boxing. The only thing I got to do is be in shape. 30 days of boxing training every day and I can fight anyone. If I’m boxing every day I wouldn’t even have to worry about diet.”

Paul holds a professional boxing record of 9-1 but fought for the second time when he knocked out NBA star Nate Robinson on the undercard of Tyson's last fight, an exhibition against Roy Jones Jr. in November 2020. Paul and Tyson's fight will be shown live on Netflix, marking the streaming service's first venture into combat sports.

"Whether you're team Paul or team Tyson, or whether you’re a lifelong boxing fan or watching your first fight, you’re not going to want to miss this event. I have a chance to prove myself against the greatest heavyweight champion of the world, the baddest man on the planet and the most dangerous boxer of all time. Time to put Iron Mike to sleep," Paul said.

“I'm very much looking forward to stepping into the ring with Jake Paul," Tyson said. “He's grown significantly as a boxer over the years. It will be a lot of fun to see what the will and ambition of a 'kid' can do with the experience and aptitude of a GOAT. It's a full circle moment that will be beyond thrilling to watch."
