Prince Harry and Meghan Markle shared "tears of joy" as they paid a heartfelt surprise visit to the sister of a teacher who was killed in a school shooting.

Brave Irma Garcia, 48, gave her own life to save her young students during the massacre at an elementary school in Uvalde, Texas, that left 21 dead. Two days later, Irma's husband Joe tragically died from a broken heart. John, the 22-year-old nephew of Irma, posted pictures of the royals' visit to social media, expressing his amazement at the Sussexes' "loving and supportive" behavior.

He claimed that Harry and Meghan "fit right in" and that having them around "felt like having family and friends over." According to John, the couple also gave his mother a birthday cake surprise. Videos showed a radiant Meghan holding the white desert and grinning warmly.

Meghan visited Uvalde two days after the massacre, paying her respects to the victims and honouring 10-year-old Uziyah Garcia's tribute site with a bouquet of white roses tied with a purple ribbon.

A Sussex spokesperson said Meghan showed up there unannounced to privately offer condolences. It has been an eventful weekend for the Dutchess of Sussex. The conversation became more personal once Meghan started speaking about the cyber bullying she underwent while she was pregnant with her two children - Archie, 4, and Lilibet, 2.

"The bulk of the bullying and abuse that I was experiencing in social media and online, was when I was pregnant with Archie and with Lili," Meghan said. "And you just think about that and really wrap your head around what people would be so hateful. It's not catty, it's cruel, why you would do that? Certainly when you're pregnant and you have a newborn," she went on, touching on how it's a tender and sacred time.

"You can either succumb to it, or nearly succumb to how painful that is, and maybe in some regards because I was pregnant that mammalian instinct just kicked in. Everything you can to protect your child, and as a result protect yourself too," the Duchess added.
