Celebrity Big Brother airs first eviction as booing fans shout 'get them out'
Celebrity Big Brother aired its first eviction tonight as one star headed home.
Both Gary Goldsmith and Lauren Simon were up for eviction tonight, with the public choosing to vote for who they wanted to keep in the house. The Princess of Wales ' uncle Gary had been put up for eviction by Sharon Osbourne, who had given him a killer nomination, whilst the other housemates nominated two people, with Lauren being chosen by them.
Tonight, it was revealed who the public had decided to evict from the Celebrity Big Brother house and the housemates were left reeling by the exit for such a huge personality on the ITV reality show. A lot of fans had suspected Lauren might leave after a slip up from voters when they realised they had to vote to save and not vote to evict.
As they joined the house live, the pair were shocked to hear a string of boos from the audience and the boos only continued when Gary was booted out of the show and made his way to speak to AJ Odudu and Will Best.
Speaking about his conversations on the royals in his exit interview, he said: "To be fair, people were asking me about it but they didn't know what else I was. Why are you here if not for that - people were asking me a lot of questions because they didn't know what to ask. I did volunteer a lot - but hey you caught me. I wanted to change what people think of me and who I was.
TOWIE's Chloe Brockett makes cheeky dig at Saffron Lempriere during filming"It does hurt for when you're always referred to being a 'bad uncle'. I wanted to change that. What an opportunity to have a sneaky peek behind the world of celebrity. I've tried to be myself, chuck in a royal thing a little too often. It was interesting to see an insight into their world. In my world, I am centre of attention but this is a different level."
When Lauren found out about her nomination last night, she was devastated. In the Diary Room, she told Big Brother: "I’m obviously a bit tired. I’m emotional. It was a bit of a shock but I knew that we’ve all voted and someone had to leave. I’m having such a nice time. I feel that there’s obviously more than two people who have voted for me in that room.
"I’m struggling with not knowing who it is. I don’t like living with snakes. I am who I am. I try to be the best I can be and get on with everybody. But I suppose I’m marmite, you love me or you hate me."
Fans were thrilled to see Gary out the house. One wrote: "Gary has been evicted? Happy International Women’s Day! #CBBUK," whilst another added: "Gary watching his best bits and realizing how much trouble he’s in now he’s out #CBBLL
#CBBUK." A third shared: "Gary is a lot more relaxed now he's out of there #CBBUK," with a fourth added: "I’d never heard of Gary yet he keeps saying he’s trying to change peoples opinion of him…WHO ARE THESE PEOPLE." A fifth shared: "Gary’s out. Thank GOD! Lauren and Louis NEXT."
Sharon had revealed earlier in the week why she had nominated Gary for eviction. Speaking to Big Brother, and not knowing Gary and everyone was watching from the house, she said: "The housemate that I nominate is Gary.
"I don't think he's that comfortable here, I think he's awkward with himself being here too. It's very tough for him; he told me about things. He's brave to have come in here. I somehow don't think this is the place for him. He's the oddball. If I went into his world, and suddenly plonked myself in the middle of his boardrooms, I'd feel the same. I think he's insecure too."
As they all looked at Gary, he admitted: "To be fair, this isn't my world. I'd go back to normal life."
