Ariana Grande's ex-husband Dalton Gomez and how they settled £970k divorce
The release of Eternal Sunshine has got a lot of us scratching our heads trying to remember who Ariana Grande’s ex-husband is.
Ariana’s highly-anticipated seventh studio album dropped today. Giving fans insight into her personal life, a number of the 30-year-old star’s tracks appear to make reference to her new boyfriend Ethan Slater as well as her short-lived marriage and subsequent divorce from Dalton Gomez.
Dalton, 28 was first linked with the Grammy winner back in March 2020, but the duo had reportedly been dating on the down low since the beginning of the year. Ariana had been spotted snogging a mystery man - who was later confirmed to be Dalton - in February.
Unlike Ariana’s other exes (the Thank You, Next singer previously dated stars Big Sean, Mac Miller and Pete Davidson), details about Dalton remained somewhat under wraps throughout their short-lived relationship. Here is everything we now know about the Grammy winner’s most recent ex and their time together…
Ariana Grande teases new music with vocals in recording studio as fans go wildThe duo’s whirlwind romance (sped up by the amount of time they spent alone together during the pandemic lockdowns) saw them get engaged in December 2020. The couple tied the knot at an intimate ceremony at their Montecito home in May 2021 but sadly went their separate ways after less than two years of marriage. It was all over almost as quickly as it had begun and Ariana filed for divorce in September 2023.
Despite sharing surnames, Dalton is not related to Selena Gomez. However, he is used to brushing shoulders with celebrities. He has worked as a high-end real estate agent in celeb city Los Angeles over the last ten years and is known to be good pals with a number of famous faces - including Miley Cyrus (who is also best mates with Ariana).
He currently works for the luxury real estate company Aaron Kirkman Group and is described as a “distinguished figure” in the industry on the company website. Dalton’s line of work is how he first crossed paths with his now ex-wife, benign scouted by her team to sell her a luxury property from his company’s listings.
An insider previously told Us Weekly that the former Disney star “fell very hard” for Dalton as soon as they met. They said: “Ariana was looking for a home outside of Los Angeles to be her getaway house, and her team found Dalton to help.” Adding: “When she saw him, she immediately thought he was cute and very good-looking, and she asked her team to set up an in-person meeting with him. Ariana fell very hard for Dalton shortly after they met."
Dalton’s line of work meant he was “unfazed” by Ariana’s celebrity. Following their wedding, a source told People: “They’re a great fit together. Dalton's entirely unfazed by the scope of her celebrity and is very grounding for her. He's young but mature and knows what he wants out of life.”
After their divorce, according to TMZ, the settlement papers revealed that Dalton will be getting a $1,250,000 tax-free check from Ariana all upfront. Reportedly, there will be no continued spousal support. The former partners also planned to sell their joint LA home, splitting the proceeds 50/50. Ariana is also thought to have paid up to $25,000 of the attorney fees that Dalton incurred through the process.
