This Morning's new host Cat Deeley is one busy lady.

The presenter was spotted attending TV meetings in New York City just days before she launches the revamped ITV daytime show alongside Ben Shephard.

The presenter is set to join Good Morning Britain's Ben as the brand-new hosts of the ITV daytime show. It comes after the broadcaster searched for months for the right hosts to take over from Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield. Cat and Ben will make their debut on Monday morning (11 March) and have been getting prepared for the new role.

The 47-year-old appeared all smiles as she jetted out of New York back to England. She looked chic in an all-black outfit topped with a leather trench coat and chunky boots. Cat arrived for a meeting at Fox Studios in New York before later being spotted at the airport ready for her flight.

She is said to have sacrificed her job on US television show So You Think You Can Dance for This Morning. The former model joined Rylan Clark on the ITV sofa at the end of last year where she "impressed" producers who were reportedly keen to get her to join the programme for quite some time. A source said Cat is a "seasoned pro" and "takes live TV in her stride and is really witty and personable with guests".

Cat made the decision to move back to England from Los Angeles in 2020 after having a traumatic experience with gun violence. She shares her two sons Milo, four, and James, two with husband Patrick Kielty. The family was living in sunny California when Patrick and Milo were caught up in a terrifying mall shooting a few years ago.

She revealed it was 'terrifying' and 'fear' was part of their decision to move back to the UK. Cat was also unnerved when looking at schools in America for Milo, as kids are taught how to react if there is a live shooter on the premises. Despite her move, Cat still worked on American television shows.

The presenter has been gearing herself up for her new job and last month enjoyed a sunny holiday in Mexico. Cat was lying on a lounger as she sipped on a margarita and she rocked a black swimsuit and a straw hat as she walked down the beach. "Surprise three-day weekend down in #Cabo for a little rest & relaxation," she captioned her post. One fan commented: "Enjoy before getting on that sofa," while another wrote: "Can’t wait to have you on This Mornings sofa Cat I think you will be great with Ben."

Announcing her This Morning role, Cat said: "This Morning is a national institution. Whenever it's on, it's like having your friends over - funny, smart, silly, heartfelt, informative and joyful - like all the greatest friendships! This Morning is and always will be the viewer's show. Ben and I both know how much people love it, and with the help of an amazing team of people, we're going to do our best to take care of it."

Cat first met her co-star Ben several years ago but have never worked together before. They met doing ITV's Soccer Aid with Cat presenting and Ben playing against Cat's husband, Patrick. "Ben was fairly nifty and athletic... I, however, was just trying to stay upright. Strangely, there was no call from Fergie [Sir Alex Ferguson ]," Cat told OK! Magazine.

"We've never been lucky enough to work together before. I've taken a lot of penalties against her husband though and he's yet to save one. I'm a huge fan of Cat's she's just a brilliant broadcaster. I loved waking up to her [on SM:TV Live] so the chance to work together is really fun," Ben gushed.
