Gwyneth Paltrow on 'biggest learnings' as ex-husband Chris Martin gets engaged
Gwyneth Paltrow has spoken candidly about parenting as she opened up about some her "biggest learnings".
The actress married producer Brad Falchuk in 2018 and she became a step-mother to his two children. During Wednesday's Visionary Women's International Women's Day Summit at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel, Gwyneth gushed about her "amazing" step-kids.
After asking if their were any step-mums in the audience, she said: "I t's a b***h, right, guys? No, I actually, I really like to talk about this because it's one of my biggest learnings as a human being.

She admitted to finding it "really rough" when she first tried to bond with her step-children.

Speaking about how she managed to overcome barriers with her step-kids, Gwyneth said: "I just learned to try to just keep shining like the sun and never keeping score." The 51-year-old is also mum to daughter Apple and son Moses who she shares with her ex-husband Chris Martin.
Gwyneth and Chris met in October 2002 and were married a year later. They separated after 10 years of marriage, with Gwyneth referring to the split as "conscious uncoupling". Now, Gwyneth has given her blessing for Chris to get engaged to Dakota Johnson.

"They have been besotted with each other from day one so taking this next step was inevitable. They are in no rush to plan the wedding but are just enjoying making their commitment official."
Gwyneth and Dakota made headlines last year when Gwyneth posted a snap of them holding hands, showing off a close friendship. Speaking to Bustle magazine about the reaction, Dakota said: "I'm glad there was that positive reaction.
"I grew up in a family that was so big, and I just believe in the saying 'Blood is thicker than water'. The actual saying is 'The blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb' which means the people you choose are more solid than the connections to the people you're actually born to."
